Co- Founder of OSH / Investment Associate at IDO
Ali Abdulhussain, a Bsc Financial and Economics graduate of George Mason University and MBA graduate of Alliance Manchester Business School, started his career as a financial consultant at EY’s Muscat office. As his role as an executive at EY Muscat, he represented EY’s Valuation & Business Modelling unit in Muscat in a range of sector and geographic projects, not limited to, healthcare, real estate, hospitality, education, and industrial, in Oman, UAE, KSA, and Qatar. Afterwards he accepted an opportunity to join a startup Financial Institution called Alizz Islamic Bank, in his role as Deputy Senior Manager of Strategy & Business Intelligence, he supported the finance department with the three to five year bank-wide strategy, and operated as an independent internal consultant to senior management. Ali then joined his current position as Investment Associate at Innovation Development Oman (IDO) Investments. His role includes deal sourcing, due diligence, asset management, portfolio management, performing valuations of portfolio companies internally and/or with external consultants, and others.
As mentor, Ali would help support startups to prepare pitch presentation and strategies to pitch to investors. His primary advice: Investors are not alike, it is essential to know your ideal investor and what is required to fit their investment mandate.
